As a Civilian Aide to the Secretary, Sean is proud and grateful to have been able to participate in the long-standing Army coin tradition. To that end, he is proud to have designed his coin.

The obverse (front) of the coin has a green background to signify Sean's Irish heritage. The area Sean represents is indicated by a star for Los Angeles in the outline of the state of California. The Bear is both the symbol of the state and the mascot for the UCLA Bruins sports teams.  The eagle with olive branch and arrows in its talons are the obverse of the Great Seal of the United States.

The reverse of the coin has  symbols of personal significance to Sean.
